Metallic gaskets
Metallic gaskets are manufactured to API 6A and ASME B16.20 and are suitable for use in high-pressure and high-temperature environments.
The small sealing surface and high contact pressure result in an excellent sealing solution. The contact surfaces of the gasket and flange require careful preparation.
Some types of metallic sealing rings are pressure-activated, which means their sealing capability increases in proportion to rising pressure.

Ring joint gaskets, metallic gaskets
Metallic ring joint gaskets are manufactured to API 6A and ASME B16.20 and are suitable for use in high-pressure and high-temperature environments. The small sealing surface and high contact pressure guarantee excellent reliability. The contact surfaces of the gasket and flange require careful preparation. Some types of metallic sealing rings are pressure-activated, which means their sealing capability increases in proportion to rising pressure.

Lens gaskets, metallic gaskets
Lens gaskets are ideal for systems operating under overpressure. As the load increases, the contact area between the spherical lens surface and the spherical flange recess grows, so the surface pressure increases only to a lesser extent. Lens gaskets are reusable and, as with ring joint gaskets, the sealing effect is achieved through elastic deformation of the surfaces. Standard dimensions to DIN 2696.

Weld ring gaskets
We recommend weld ring gaskets wherever a welded seal is required – whether because of the hazardous nature of the medium or the risk associated with loss of function – but where the connection must still be separable to a certain extent. These gaskets are therefore semi-detachable, as both the welded sealing joint and the
flange bolts must be released.
Weld ring gaskets are generally made of the same or a similar material as the pipe or flange and are only used in pairs. The choice between the different profiles depends on the operating conditions of the weld ring gasket.
The “fixing weld” joins one weld ring half to the flange. The “fixing weld” can be placed on the inside or the outside.
The “sealing weld” always joins the two weld rings to each other. The weldability of the materials (gasket to flange), the welding feasibility (proper fit) and the welding safety (expert arrangement and specifications) must always be assessed and tested, taking local operating conditions into account and involving a qualified welding engineer.
