PTFE gaskets
PTFE gaskets can be used even in the most aggressive media (pH 0–14). They are good electrical insulators and resistant to ageing. Physiologically safe, they do not contaminate the medium.

PTFE gaskets
The basic properties of PTFE offer a unique combination of:
- low coefficient of friction
- excellent chemical resistance
- non-stick surface
- wide temperature range (–200 °C to +230 °C)
- excellent dielectric properties.
PTFE is practically inert to all chemicals at high temperature and pressure, with the exception of a few substances such as certain alkali metals, chlorine trifluoride and elemental fluorine.

Modified PTFE gaskets
The KLINGER® Top-Chem product family is a universal heavy-duty gasket that delivers exceptional performance under high mechanical demands at high temperatures. It offers excellent resistance in strongly acidic and alkaline applications, as well as to steam and oxygen. It is suitable for an extremely wide range of applications in the chemical and petrochemical industries, and in shipbuilding for the transport of chemicals. Its base material is PTFE, filled with specific quantities of fillers (SiC, hollow glass microspheres, barium sulphate, etc.).

W. L. GORE ePTFE flange gaskets and sealing tapes
GORE® gaskets are among the best-sealing and most chemically resistant gaskets available. GORE® gaskets have also proven themselves with users who must comply with environmental and safety requirements, or who work with aggressive or toxic substances.
GORE® gaskets are made of 100% expanded PTFE and are resistant to all media with a pH of 0–14, except molten or dissolved alkali metals and elemental fluorine at higher temperatures and pressures. The gaskets are heat-resistant from -269 to +230 °C and can therefore be used under extreme temperature conditions.
