Control valves – product group overview

A control valve is a fitting installed in a pipeline whose task is to exert a continuously adjustable resistance in the flow path based on control signals from the controller. This allows direct control of the flow rate and consistent control of process variables such as pressure, temperature or liquid level. In other words, it is the final control element for pipeline flows, used to change certain flow parameters according to process requirements (flow rate, outlet pressure, pressure and temperature changes).

In automatic control terminology, the control valve is also called the “final control element”.

This German manufacturer from Tönisvorst is the inventor and innovator of the revolutionary nozzle–baffle system. Its history began in Sweden in 1917 with the patent of RagnAR CArlstedt. After the Second World War, the company was re-founded in Tönisvorst in 1949 and is a well-known and respected supplier and innovator of control valves. Its products are auxiliary-powered control valves (motorised valves, pneumatic, electro-pneumatic and hydraulically operated valves) for general industrial use or for custom tasks with special requirements.

The Klinger group acquired Burocco, a manufacturer of electro-pneumatically operated control valves. The designs are custom-built, so the most suitable valves are selected and manufactured for each application.

Zürcher Technik

Based in Sissach, Switzerland, the company produces self-operated control valves, relief valves and pilot valves for the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Besides pressure reduction, its devices are also suitable for controlling and maintaining protective atmospheres (e.g. nitrogen blanketing).
